As father time has caught up with me, I find that I travel to the downtown section of Waco less each and every year. Today, my wife and I decided to eat lunch at Ninfa's - so we took Valley Mills Drive down to Franklin and proceeded to their restaurant. Everything looked the same to us until we got close to the restaurant and then I was amazed at the massive construction that is taking place near the Waco City Hall and the Hilton Hotel.

Of course, like everyone else I have read about the massive Downtown Waco development projects currently underway - but until I saw the actual progress with my own two eyes, I had no idea how much was being done within those few short blocks that have pretty much remained abandoned since a tornado destroyed much of that part Downtown Waco back in the 1950's.

In addition to all of the new construction in Downtown Waco, there was even a great deal of road construction taking place there, as well. To say that I was impressed with the new look of the downtown section of Waco would be a huge understatement. Like many other Waco residents, I do not travel downtown that often anymore since most retail stores are located in the western part of the city these day. However, if you want to see some amazing community projects - travel downtown and just see how different it looks from this time last year.
